How it works
Apply with your Instagram handle and a few images of your work.
We review every application and email you either way.
If you're selected, we send a short artist agreement, then you ship your work to us.
Each piece is sealed in a Mystry Mart bag with your handle and a QR code that leads collectors straight to you.
You earn 50% of every sale.
Why there's an application fee
Red Dot is one of the biggest fairs of Miami Art Week, with heavy press, nonstop foot traffic and booths that cost exhibitors thousands. We have a 100% sell-out streak across our machines, and we want your work to be part of what's next.
About $1 per piece. The minimum submission is 50 pieces, so the fee works out to roughly a dollar per piece, plus the 50/50 split on sales.
We work for you. From the moment your work arrives, we handle everything: jurying, packaging every piece, building your own artist page on our site where people discover you and your work, keeping the machine stocked and maintained all week, and promoting you on social media and to the press.
The work keeps working. Red Dot is just the start. Selected artists join our ongoing roster, and we keep working with you long after the fair, rotating your pieces through our other locations, where artists get discovered by our partner spaces, commissioned for larger work and featured in the press.
It covers the event. Shipping the machine to Miami, on-site staff, and everything it takes to run a machine at a major fair.
Our year-round placements at museums, markets and venues are always free to apply. Fees only apply to large events like Red Dot.
Why we ask for your Instagram
Not for your follower count. We never select artists by followers. Every bag is branded with your handle, and we feature selected artists across our social channels with posts and promotions made just for you.

How to prepare your work
Every piece drops from the machine, so it needs the right size, weight and protection to land safely, and to look great when it's unwrapped.
PRINTS + WORK ON PAPER
Matted, signed, 4×6 or 5×7
Prints must be giclée, sized 4×6 or 5×7. Original drawings and paintings on thin paper follow the same rules.
Place each piece in a 5×7 pre-cut white-core mat. It gives the bag the right weight to drop cleanly and presents your work beautifully.
Sign every piece.
Add a bio, stickers or business cards on the back if you like. Please leave out discount codes and promotions.
PAINTINGS ON CANVAS
5×7 or smaller, sealed
Use a canvas panel no larger than 5×7, like these, so it fits our packaging.
Add a bio, stickers or business cards on the back if you like. Please leave out discount codes and promotions.
CERAMICS
Bubble-wrapped and boxed
Bubble-wrap each piece and pack it snugly in a small box, or anything that will protect it from the drop.
Our machines are padded, and fragile pieces go on the lowest rows. Once we open and inspect your package, your work is our responsibility: if anything breaks on our end, we cover it and you still get paid for the sale.

From our artists
This time last year, I was heavy in the prep phase for Red Dot Miami, getting my prints packed for Mystry Mart. I’ve been on that MUCH NEEDED high since last December. Because of this opportunity, so many new things have popped up for me!
I grew up in the South Florida area and most of my family is still there. When my work was in a Mystry Mart machine during Miami Art Week in 2025, my mom was so excited to visit and get one of my prints. This was the first time my work was sold in Florida, a place so important to me, and I’m grateful to have been able to share it with special people in my life and new people from all over through Mystry Mart.
Every time I do a large show selling my work, I get several people who recognize my work from the machine and tell me they got a piece from Mystry Mart at the Brooklyn Museum or House of Yes. As a small artist, it’s SO important to leave a lasting impression, and I feel Mystry Mart helps create a presence for me in the art space and in people’s minds.
I have been honored to be one of the first artists featured with Mystry Mart and grow with them and all the other amazing artists. Every time I get tagged in a post online and see someone holding my art, it brings a smile to my face. It’s an incredible way to share my work with people who may have never found me before. One of my favorite memories is visiting my art in the Brooklyn Museum for the first time with my partner. After I took all my photos and videos and purchased my own art for my memories, I watched as two girls who were next in line clicked the buttons corresponding with my art and they walked away with a piece of me. I was too shy to say anything but I watched as they unwrapped my artwork and took their videos/photos with it. Someone was able to purchase my artwork right there in the Brooklyn Museum, something I never thought I’d say! I am grateful to Mystry Mart for their continued support and having me along for the experience.
I’ve been working with Mystry Mart for a few years now and have loved being part of it from the start. The team has brought such a fun and exciting concept to life and also been a joy to work with. I’ve also received so many lovely messages from customers who have purchased my art through Mystry Mart, and it always makes me happy to know my work has found a happy home with someone else.
I have so many memorable moments with Mystry Mart… I think one of the best things is getting messages and DMs from people who have gotten my work and telling me how much they love it. It really makes my day!

We're here for the artists
Mystry Mart is part art gallery, part art installation, and entirely a mystry ready to be unraveled.
We give emerging artists a place to show their work and sell it, and for many of them, that's just the beginning. Our artists get discovered and grow their following. They get sought out at art fairs, commissioned for bigger works and murals, launch merch in shops, and are even invited to teach art classes.
Every artist gets the same opportunity, whether they're just starting out or already making a name for themselves. We open the door and help them step into the real world with confidence.
At its heart, Mystry Mart is about discovery, connection and support.
Look closely at our name: MYSTRY MART. The last three letters of each word say it all. Try art.

Discovery
Art belongs everywhere. Our machines are fun for all ages, and they're often where an artist makes their very first sale, or where someone buys their very first piece of art.
Connection
Every bag carries the artist's handle and a QR code, so a surprise purchase turns into a follow, a commission or a lifelong fan.
Support
Artists earn 50% of every sale, with no upfront costs. It's a new way for emerging artists to get paid for their work.

Every machine is a canvas
Painted by @nyc_mango at Olly Olly Market.
Every machine is designed and painted by an emerging artist. Each time a new space welcomes us, we host a design competition: artists submit their ideas, and the space picks the one whose design fits it best.
Keep up with competitions on Instagram at @mystrymart, or sign up for our newsletter below to hear when we're looking for designs.
An art vending machine. We turn snack machines into mini galleries stocked with sealed bags of original work by independent artists.
What's inside a bag?
One original piece, like a fine art print, a painting, a ceramic or another unique oddity. What you get is the mystery.
Can I choose what I get?
Sort of. Each bag shows the artist's Instagram handle and a QR code, so you can pick by artist. Or choose at random and let it surprise you.
How much does it cost?
At our machines, artists set their own prices, usually between $10 and $100. Every bag in our online machine is $25.
How do I pay at a machine?
Our machines are cashless. Just tap or swipe your card, or tap your phone. If tap doesn't work, please swipe instead.
My item got stuck. What do I do?
Sorry to hear that! Let a staff member at the venue know, or take a photo of the stuck item and send it to us through our contact form with the last 4 digits of the card you used. Once we look into what happened, we'll give you a full refund.
What if I don't like my item?
Gift it! We can't offer refunds for items you don't like, which is why we encourage you to scan the QR code on each bag first to see the artist's style. Still not your thing? Pass it on to someone who'll love it. Either way, you've supported a real, living artist, and that goes a long way.
How does buying online work?
Pick a bag in the online machine, hit vend and push the flap to see who made it. Then check out securely with Stripe and we ship it to you.
What's the QR code on my bag?
It leads to the artist and their work, so you can follow them and see more of what they make.
Where are the machines?
See our locations page for every machine and where we've popped up.
For artists and venues
I'm an artist. How do I get my work in a machine?
Fill out our artist application. Accepted artists earn 50% of every sale. Right now we're accepting applications for Miami Art Week.
Do I need to live in New York?
Most of our artists are New York creatives, but we've featured artists from elsewhere too. Tell us where you're based when you apply.
Who paints the machines?
Artists do! When a new venue partners with us, we hold a design competition. Artists submit machine designs inspired by the location's vision and aesthetic, and the winning design is painted onto the machine. To hear when the next competition opens, follow @mystrymart on Instagram or join our newsletter at the bottom of this page.
Can I host a machine at my venue?
We'd love to hear from you. Galleries, museums, markets and shops can reach us through our contact page.
